Being genderqueer, or gender neutral, or androgyne, or something completely different does not mean I don’t want surgery. It doesn’t mean I’m happy with my body just because I don’t fit into male or female. My body is my own to make as I wish.
And I’m going to address this to some trans* people I know — stop invalidating my gender identity just because I don’t fit into your binary or because I don’t have it “as bad” as you or because I don’t experience gender dysphoria the same way you do or because I don’t have the time/energy/will to try to get read as genderqueer on most days, or for any other number of reasons. Everyone has various privileges and everyone lacks various privileges. Just because I experience some privileges does not negate my trans*, genderqueer identity. Stop policing my gender.
